How to remain healthy when working on PC 8-12 hours/day

There are more and more jobs introduced every day, that require working on a PC for at least 8 hours a day. Working for that long on a computer of course can be really bad for anyone’s health and thus taking a few precautions is always advised. We are here to discuss a few of those and how you can save yourself from having health problems if you are going to be working for that many hours on a computer.

First of all, you should always support your back. A chair that properly supports your back should always be used if you are going to be working for a long time. You should also of course adjust the height of your chair in order to have a comfortable and natural body posture while you are working. Other than that, you should also make sure that there are no things below your desk disturbing your legs, thus ensuring a good leg positioning and movement as well. If you can’t find a good enough positioning for your legs then you can always use a foot rest.

Next up, you should always place your keyboard and your mouse at much about the same height and all at elbow level to ensure that your upper arms don’t fall relaxed at the sides. While you are typing, you should have the keyboard in front of you and the mouse close by. It is generally wise to place the frequently used items close to you so that you don’t strain yourself with reaching them every time.

Last but not least, you should position yourself at a distance that is comfortable for you to read things on the screen and also a position that you won’t have to twist your neck to be able to see every time. Having a proper distance from your screen can be one of the most important things to not getting tired from working for too long on a computer.
